Occupational Health and Safety Training and Development Workshops

Land Based Training is a training and development organisation, offering workshops and certificates in occupational health and safety it is accredited and registered with NZQA to deliver the following qualifications.

National certificate in Occupational Health & Safety (workplace safety) Level 1

National certificate in Occupational Health & Safety (workplace safety) Level 3

National Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety (Coordination) Level 4

Health & Safety Representative course

Land Based Training provides training in Health & Safety Representative courses to a wide range of companies and organisations. Many of these courses are supported and on behalf of the Department of Labour.

A two day course designed to prepare staff to support and coordinate the health & safety programme for their company.

This includes the following components:

• Hazard management
• Duties of employees
• Emergency procedures
• Accident reporting, recording and investigations
• Safety management practices

Civil Construction

Land Based Training has experience and expertise in delivering ‘Operate safe’ programmes specifically for the Civil Construction Industry.

Agriculture

Land Based Training is a leading provider of training in Agriculture in the North Island. All Training is able to be NZQA Unit Standard based.

Increasingly a key component of the demand for training by farmers and the wider community including infrastructure companies is in safety with use of vehicles.

• Tractor Safety Training
• 4WD Safety Training

Common practice is to refresher train in vehicle safety every 3 years

Land Based Training also offers safety training in a range of farming activities.

We have ERMA registered trainers to deliver

• Growsafe (R) and Approved Handlers Courses
• Revalidation courses, which are required every 5 year

Driver Training

The Land Based Training Driver Training School based in Palmerston North offers.

A range of licences, endorsements and National certificates in Transport.

We also provide Driver audits and assessments and safety training to improve driving technique, safety and vehicle efficiency.

Land Based Training is licenced to provide ‘Driversafe’ in conjunction with the Ministry of Transport

Schools Gateway

Land Based Training support Secondary schools’ Gateway students with short courses in Health and Safety in the Workplace.
