LBTFoundation Focused Courses
Designed to deliver learning to further education and employment. The 26 week courses key components are life skills and employment skills, with some work skills. Targeting adults(18+) on a main benefit who need a supportive environment to prepare for the workplace. Includes Literacy and Numeracy training.
Foundation focused programmes can be found in Marton and North Taranaki. A partnership with the Tetiary Education Commision.
Intro to Employment, Marton:
- A Free course, with primary focus on Life and employment skills
- Studying towards the National Certificate in Employment Skills L1
- Literacy & Numeracy support
- Outcomes split between further training and fulltime employment
- 26 weeks
- Flexible start time
- Classroom based, with some outdoor activities
- A safe supportive environment
Farm Skills Taranaki:
- A Free course, with primary focus on Life and employment skills
- Studying towards the National Certificate in Agriculture Introductory Skills L2
- Literacy & Numeracy support
- Outcomes split between further training and fulltime employment
- 26 weeks
- Flexible start time
- One day in the Classroom
- A safe supportive environment
- A project based course
- Work placement on farm to develop relevant skills and experience
- ATV, Motor bike, Fencing, Animal handling
