The youth programmes for 16-18 year olds are mixed farm skills courses

Based in North Taranaki, Wanganui and Manawatu

What can this course offer you?

• Free pre employment training
• A pathway to prepare you for a rewarding farming career
• National Certificate in Agriculture Introductory skills
• Essential practical farming skills
• Project and farm placement based, with one day per week agricultural theory
• Literacy & Numeracy support, with regular measures
• Career support

Course content:

• Fencing, tractor safety, soils, pastures and crops, handling and treating livestock
• Sheep beef and or dairy, Quad bike safety, Health & Safety, preparation for employment CV, presentation and role play interviews
• Operate a personal budget, life skills
• Flexible start date
• 44 weeks

Whether you have already got some farming skills and want to learn more or have not yet been on a farm, then the Certificate in Agriculture Introductory Skills Level 2 is a good place to start.
