Interschool Agricultural Programmes Competition
STAR and Gateway Agricultural Tractor and Safety Competitions
Land Based Training offer STAR and Gateway schools we tutor the opportunity to compete in the interschool agricultural competition. The agricultural programmes they compete in cover tractor and all terrain vehicle safety, sheep and cattle handling and general knowledge.
This is an annual event held at regional level with the three top schools from each region competing in the national competition.
Regional Competitions:
Are held in August/September with schools invited to participate in these events.
The finals in October are held at Otiwhiti Station home of Otiwhiti Station Land Based Training Agricultural School, near Hunterville.
Costs: The only costs involved are travel and accommodation as required for finals.

Land Based Training supplies lunch, drinks and all farming equipment. Schools provide transport and accommodation can be arranged through Land Based Training.
This is an excellent event to let the students show off the skills they have been taught on the STAR and Gateway agricultural programmes.
