Other Courses

Land Based Training offers a range of courses including specific training on a range of Unit Standards that are on the NZQA Framework. The New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) was established by the government to set national training standards. These standards are known as Unit Standards.

Unit standards are used to qualify all levels of training from courses delivered by schools, right through to post graduate studies offered at university. Nationally recognised Certificates are made up of Unit Standards and they ensure that the training is delivered and assessed to a certain standard and therefore will be recognised throughout New Zealand and also in some other countries such as Australia, U.K. and Canada.

	Employers recognise NZQA qualifications as the best means to judge worker training, both when employing new workers, and when training existing personnel.
	So long as they follow NZQA accredited Unit Standards when training personnel, employers can have more than half of their training costs paid for by government.
	Work and Income New Zealand (WINZ) and Tertiary Education Commission also fund training undertaken by NZQA registered organisations to train and assist long-term unemployed into employment..

Only organisations registered and accredited by NZQA are able to offer training based on Unit Standards.

We also offer several National Certificates and provide training on a series of Block Courses for Working on the Roads, Chainsaws, ATV's, Tractor Operation, Stock Handling, Load Securing, Fencing, Growsafe, plus Motivational and Job Search Skills. We also are involved extensively with the Stars Programmes for schools and are accredited to provide Employment Skills Certificate.
